Limitations of Diagnostic Precision and Predictive Utility in the Individual Case: A Challenge for Forensic Practice

Erratum to: Law Hum Behav DOI 10.1007/s10979-009-9176-x

In the article entitled: “Limitations of Diagnostic Precision and Predictive Utility in the Individual Case: A Challenge for Forensic Practice” the equation at the bottom of the 1st column of the page headed Analysis is incorrect. The correct equation is as follows:

$$ y_{\rm L} ,y_{\rm U} = B_{0} + B_{1} x \pm t_{n} \sqrt{ {\hat{\sigma}}^{2}\left({\frac{1}{n}} + {\frac{(x - \bar{x})^{2} }{SS(X)}}\right)}$$

The equation at the top of the 2nd column of the same page is also incorrect. The correct equation is as follows:

$$ y_{\rm L} ,y_{\rm U} = B_{0} + B_{1} x_{n + 1} \pm t_{n} \sqrt {\hat{\sigma }^{2} \left(1 + {\frac{1}{n}} + {\frac{{(x_{n + 1} - \bar{x})^{2} }}{SS(X)}}\right)} $$
