Abstract

The objectives of the present investigation were to formulate and evaluate medicated oral jellies containing Ambroxol HCl, which is the most used mucolytic agent in the treatment of chronic bronchitis and formulate and evaluate medicated oral jellies containing Ibuprofen which is recognized as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug. Medicated jellies with Amb or Ibu contain the following gelling agents: gelatin (Gel), sodium alginate (Alg), pectin (Pec). Prior to jellies preparation, a compatibility study was performed for each moist binary mixture between Ibu or Amb, with each medicated jelly preparation component. Active substances, moist binary mixtures, and medicated jellies were analyzed using FTIR-UATR and thermogravimetry (TGA).
