Summary

The MCM-48 siliceous nanostructured molecular sieve was synthesized from a hydrogel, resulting in the following molar composition: 1SiO<Subscript>2</Subscript>:0.25Na<Subscript>2</Subscript>O:0.65CTMABr:60H<Subscript>2</Subscript>O. The cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTMABr) was used as structure template. Model-free kinetic algorithms were used to study the optimum conditions of template removal and to estimate the apparent activation energy of ca. 178 kJ mol<Superscript>-1</Superscript>.
