Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

Seven major (Al, Fe, K, Na and Mg) and 20 minor (As, Br, Ce, Cl, Co, Cr, Cs, Eu, Hf, La, Lu, Mn, Rb, Sb, Sc, Sm, Ta, Th, V and Zn) elements were determined in source rocks samples of Soghri-02 Well, Kohat Basin, Pakistan using NAA and AAS. V/Ni (0.62–3.28) and V/(V+Ni) ratios (0.38–0.77) revealed mixed (terrestrial/marine) organic matter input and anoxic depositional environment respectively. Annual Dose rates, calculated from activity concentrations were within safe limits. Enrichment factor, geo-accumulation index, pollution index and integrated pollution index showed heavy As and Sb pollution.
