Abstract
A polemic is given regarding the apparent molal volumes reported in the recent paper by Mohammadi and coworkers. The authors’ calculated apparent molal volumes for N-hexylpyridinium nitrate dissolved in water, ethanol, and acetonitrile were found to be miscalculated, and are inconsistent with the experimental density given in the paper. Correctly calculated numerical values show a much larger concentration dependence as one would be led to believe by the values presented in the previously published paper.
