Phase Equilibria for Three Ternary Systems (Water + n-Propanol + n-Butyl Acetate, Ethyl Butyrate or n-Pentyl Acetate) at T = (293.15, 303.15, 313.15) K

The experimental liquid phase compositions of the ternary systems (water + n-propanol + n-butyl acetate, ethyl butyrate or n-pentyl acetate) were measured at T = (293.15, 303.15 and 313.15) K under atmospheric pressure. The thermodynamic modified and extended UNIQUAC models were applied to correlate and analyze the experimental values. Ternary phase diagrams at the experimental temperatures were plotted and compared. The linear trend of the measured liquid–liquid equilibrium data was confirmed by using the Bachman equation. Distribution coefficients and separation factors were applied to evaluate extracting capability of n-butyl acetate, ethyl butyrate and n-pentyl acetate to separate n-propanol from (n-propanol + water) solutions.
