Critical Behavior and Size Dependence of Magnetic Entropy Changes on La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 Manganite

Abstract

In this work, nano and micro scales of La0.6Sr0.4MnO3 ceramics are prepared by sol-gel and solid-state reaction methods. In order to investigate the dependency of the magnetic properties on the size variation of as-prepared samples, their magnetic entropy change (ΔSM) at different magnetic fields and temperatures are fitted by Lorentz universal function. The obtained results confirmed the size impression on magneto-caloric properties, in spite of proving significant influence on some parameters related to the refrigeration system.
