Abstract

Nano-perforated magneto-plasmonic structures comprised of periodically arranged gold nano-islands have been prepared by nanosphere lithography combined with sputtering method. The coupling of magnetic materials to plasmonic perforated structure provided a way to enhance the magneto-optical rotation of the nano-perforated magneto-plasmonic structure. This enhancement could be seen at the first and the end of the visible spectral region corresponding to the nanosphere-assisted localized surface plasmon resonance modes. This concept can be useful for the development of innovative devices for isolation, circulation, and also sensor applications.
