Abstract
The electronic structure of the PuRhGa5 compound has been investigated within the framework of the spin-fluctuation theory and the LDA +U+SO calculations (by means of LAPW basis). The parameter values of electron-electron interactions were determined from the best agreement between the experimental data and the temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility calculated by means of obtained electron spectra. It was shown that owing to fd-transitions, the magnitude of exchange (Hund) interaction increases as compared with PuCoGa5 compound and that the partially filled f-peak is formed in the overlapping area of the 5/2 and 7/2 f-multiplets. This results in ferromagnetic instability of the paramagnetic ground state of PuRhGa5 compound, which persists up to the superconducting transition temperature. With increase in temperature the spin stiffness coefficient changes the sign from negative to positive that results in the stable paramagnetic state of PuRhGa5 compound.
