Efficient Resonantly-Pumped Tm:Y2O3 Ceramic Laser

  • Published:
Journal of Russian Laser Research Aims and scope

Abstract

We present an efficient continuous wave Tm:Y2O3 ceramic laser resonantly pumped by a 1645 nm Er:YAG laser. With an absorbed pump power of 5.9 W, we achieve a maximum output power of 2.7 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 55.9% with respect to the absorbed pump power. The central wavelength is 2051 nm, and the M2 factors in the x and y directions are 1.2 and 1.1, respectively.
