Laser-Diode End-Pumped High-Repetition Frequency Laser Operating at 1.34 μm

Abstract

We report a laser-diode end-pumped high-repetition frequency laser operating at 1.34 μm. Under acousto-optic Q-switched operation frequency of 50, 75, and 100 kHz, we study experimentally the characteristics of the output pulse versus the pump power. At 11.6 W pump power and 100 kHz repetition rate, we obtain an average output power of 2.33 W with a pulse width of 153.6 ns and a peak power of 150 W. We achieve a peak–peak pulse fluctuation of less than 10%.
