Abstract
A hydrostable and methyl-functionalized MOF with a qtz topology constructed from dinuclear clusters, {[Cd(1,4-NDC)(3,3′-dmbpy)]·(H2O)}n (1) (1,4-H2NDC = 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic, 3,3′-dmbpy = 3,3′-dimethyl-4,4′-bipyridine) was synthesized and structurally characterized. TGA, PXRD, and water vapor sorption results show high thermal and water stability for the framework. 1 displays a 3D framework with the channel of 5.1 × 7.0 Å2 along the b axis. The framework exhibits a reversible and highly selective luminescent sensing function with respect to Al3+ cation.
