Abstract
Spent fuel reprocessed by UREX+ technique and spiked with thorium was submitted to a neutron irradiation in two different fusion–fission systems. One based on magnetic confinement and the other one on inertial confinement. The goal is to compare and find the better fusion system to induce transmutation with increased its efficiency. Results indicate that the fusion system based on a Tokamak has greater transmutation values.
