Calculation of the Space Charge Layer Thickness with Account for the Dipole Moment of Water Molecules in KCl and NaCl Solutions

  • Published:
Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics Aims and scope

The problem of the electric double layer in electrolytes is considered. The Poisson equation is integrated with account for the screening of electrodes by salt ions and water molecules. The space charge layer has been calculated. The volt–ampere characteristics in NaCl and KCl solutions are presented. A method for determining the temperature of ions from the volt–ampere characteristic of the electrolyte solution is proposed.
