Measurement of the Equilibrium Contact Angle of Wetting as a Method of Studying the State of the Surface Energy at the Solid–Liquid–Gas Interface

An equation to calculate the equilibrium contact angle of wetting is obtained. The results of measurement of the equilibrium contact angle of wetting various substrates with mercury are presented, and the surface energies of solid bodies have been calculated on the basis of thermodynamic parameters.
