Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics Aims and scope

Conditions for the absence and occurrence of filtration convection in a compressible gas have been investigated. Numerical experiments have been carried out for a horizontal porous layer saturated with perfect gas and Van der Waals gas. Analytical expressions for thermomechanical fields of this layer at its mechanical equilibrium have been given. Based on a comparative analysis of results obtained for the indicated gases, their general regularities have been revealed for the compressibility of the considered layer and the temperature difference in it.
