Abstract

Two new Strandberg type molybdophenylphosphonate complexes with the formular {[Co(2,2′-bpy)2]2[(C6H5P)2Mo5O21]·H2O}·2H2O (1) and {(H3O)8[Co(2,2′-bpy)3]3[(C6H5P)2Mo5O21]3·Cl2} (2) (2,2′-bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine) have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and structurally determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In addition, in vitro anticancer activity of compounds 1 and 2 on three human pancreatic cancer cells (Panc-1, T3M4 and Su86) was further determined.
