Abstract

At room temperature, the new compound Rb1.89Na0.11(SO4)0.89(SeO4).011Te(OH)6 crystallizes in the monoclinic system with space group P21/c. The unit cell parameters are: a = 13.655 Å (4), b = 6.681 Å (4), c = 11.497 Å, β = 107.07° (3), V = 1002.60(5) Å3, Z = 4 and ρcal = 3.26 g.cm−1. The structure is stabilized by interplanar O–H···O hydrogen bonds involving all the H atoms that belong to the OH groups of the Te(OH)6 octahedra. Raman spectra of the material recorded at various temperatures (300–500 K) in the frequency range 100–1000 cm−1 and IR spectra achieved at room temperature between 600 and 3500 cm−1, confirm the presence of all the phase transitions detected in the material and show that anionic groups coexist independently in the same crystal.
