Abstract

Structural studies of VO2+ doped potassium dihydrogen citrate single crystal grown by slow evaporation method have been carried out by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) techniques at room temperature. AFM and SEM are the most preferred popular techniques for imaging and measuring of crystals at the nanoscale. In this work, potassium dihydrogen citrate single crystal planes have been observed and in one of the scanning period some air bubbles have been seen on the surface with AFM and SEM studies. Also, SEM has been used for determining near surface properties of potassium dihydrogen citrate crystal. SEM micrographs show microcrystals exist on the surface. In addition, slip bands have been observed.
