Abstract

The titled new functionalized ligand 2-[(4-chloro-phenyl)-pyrrolidin-1-yl-methyl]-malonic acid diethyl ester (4) is prepared in good yield through condensation of pyrazole and 3,5-dimethyl-pyrazole, respectively, with 2-arylidene-malonic acid diethyl esters (3). The structures of (4) is determined by spectral (IR, 1H NMR), elemental analyses and X-ray diffraction data. The structure of (4) was solved in triclinic, space group P-1, with a = 5.6858(2), b = 10.0716(4), c = 16.2885(7) Å, α = 94.338(3, β = 91.453(4), γ = 97.750(3)°, V = 921.00(6) Å3, Z = 2.
