Nickel Pyrazinecarboxylate: A New 1D Coordination Polymer

Journal of Chemical Crystallography Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Abstract

A novel three-dimensional coordination polymer [Ni(pca)2(H2O)]n (1) (pca = 2-pyrazinecarboxylate) has been synthesized by refluxing NiCl2·(H2O)6 with pcaH (pcaH = 2-pyrazinecarboxcylic acid). Complex 1 contains one-dimensional zigzag chains that are H-bonded to adjacent chains, generating a three-dimensional network that crystallizes in the P212121 space group, and is isostructural with a previous structure containing Co (Liang et al. Inorg Chim Acta 328:152–158, 2002). In structure 1, a = 7.79(6), b = 9.90(8), and c = 14.90(12) Å.
