Abstract

A simple water-in-oil (w/o) microemulsion route was developed to prepare the Co-ferrospinel/ZnO nanocomposite. The synthesized nanocomposite were characterized by X-ray diffractometer, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and vibrating sample magnetometer. The results showed that the nanocomposite was made up of irregularly shaped aggregates composed of small particles. The saturation magnetization of the nanocomposite clearly decreased compared with that of Co-ferrospinel nanoparticles. The formation mechanism of the nanocomposite was proposed as well.
