Identification of Substitutional Solid Solutions Derived from Molybdenum–Vanadium Oxides Using Infrared Spectroscopy

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

Feasibility was demonstrated for the spectroscopic identification of solid solution phases varying in composition formed upon obtaining mixed molybdenum–vanadium oxides by solvothermal methods. This method is based on the change in the ν(V=O) adsorption bands due to the partial substitution of vanadium sites in the crystal lattice by molybdenum in the mixed oxide.
