Major Trends and Differences in the Formation of Complexes of Amino Acids with Calcium(II) and Magnesium(II) Ions According to Optical Spectroscopy Data

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

The thermodynamic stability constants of coordination compounds of calcium(II) and magnesium(II) ions with amino acids in aqueous solution at 298 K were calculated using spectrophotometry data. The mathematical treatment of these data is discussed. Differences in the complexing of amino acids as ligands by calcium(II) and magnesium(II) ions are indicated and trends in the complex formation of various amino acids are established.
