Band-Gap Determination from Photoconductivity Excitation Spectra

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

The possibility to determine the direct and indirect band gap from the photoconductivity spectrum is shown. The band gap determined from the photoconductivity spectrum is shown to differ from that determined from the edge optical spectrum using various structures as examples. This method can indicate impurity band gaps in composite structures.
