Molecular Association Processes of Eosin in Reverse Micelles

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

Molecular association processes of the dye eosin in AOT reverse micelles of various sizes are investigated. The degree of association of dye molecules is shown to increase as the hydrodynamic radius Rh of the micelles increases. The structure of the resulting associates (eosin dimers) is determined. An increase of Rh is shown to be accompanied by an increase of angle α and decrease of the distance between dye molecules in the dimer.
