Amplification factors for chromium K α-line fluorescence excited by emission from substrates fabricated from various metals were calculated using an auxiliary system comprising thin layers of chromium deposited on a polymer film. It was found that the chromium K α-line fluorescence intensity amplification was greatest for the iron substrate.
