Abstract
To a first approximation in perturbation theory, we have obtained expressions for the rate constants for intersystem crossings in acceptor molecules. We show that exchange interactions between the components of the donor-acceptor pair can change the probability of intersystem crossings for both radiative T → S0 and nonradiative S1 → T transitions. The theoretical conclusions are supported by the results of experimental studies.
