CCS and SM conceived the original idea. Material preparation, data collection and analysis were performed by CCS and SM. GA and MSM applied the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, 2nd edition (ADOS-2) and Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, 3rd edition (WAIS-III), respectively, and aided in interpreting the results. The first draft of the manuscript was written by CCS with later review by SM, NGGFM and CRCR. All authors provided critical feedback and contributed to the final version of the manuscript.
