Abstract
Polytitano- and polyzirconomethylsiloxane xerogels are synthesized by a sol-gel process, and their stability and pore structure are studied using IR spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and isothermal adsorption measurements. The results demonstrate that the xerogels are hydrolytically stable and have a well-developed pore structure (S > 350 m2/g), with high metal contents (8–13%) in the polymethylsiloxane matrix.
