Effective electrostrictive properties of stochastic two-component materials

  • Published:
International Applied Mechanics Aims and scope

The paper addresses electrostriction as a nonlinear electromechanical effect in inhomogeneous two-component materials. The method of conditional moments is developed to determine the effective electrostrictive properties of such materials. Exact expressions for the effective characteristics of isotropic composites with oriented inclusions are given. The effect of the shape and volume fraction of inclusions on the effective properties of composite materials is examined. Relevant graphs are plotted
