Wave Motion Localization Effects in Elastic Waveguides

Abstract

Dynamic effects characteristic of elastic bodies and associated with local disturbances in finite elastic bodies and inhomogeneous waveguides are analyzed and systematized. The physical causes of such disturbances are analyzed. It is shown that these disturbances are due to energy transfer from longitudinal to transverse waves and back, when they are reflected from the free surface of an elastic body
