A combined social action, mixed methods approach to vocational guidance efficacy research

Abstract

This article proposes a social action, mixed methods approach to verifying the efficacy of vocational guidance programs. Research strategies are discussed in the context of how the processes and purposes of efficacy research have been conceptualized and studied in vocational psychology. Examples of how to implement this approach in future efficacy research are provided.

Résumé.

Une approche combinant action sociale et méthodes mixtes pour la recherche sur l'efficacité en orientation professionnelle. Cet article propose une approche combinant action sociale et méthodes mixtes pour tester l’efficacité des programmes d’orientation professionnelle. Des stratégies de recherche sont discutées en examinant le contexte dans lequel les processus et les buts de la recherche sur l’efficacité ont été conceptualisés et étudiés en psychologie vocationnelle. Des exemples de la façon de mettre cette approche en application dans une future recherche sur l’efficacité sont fournis.

Zusammenfassung.

Eine Kombination von Sozialaktion mit dem Gemischten Methodenansatz zur Verwendung in Wirksamkeitsuntersuchungen von Beruflicher Beratung. Dieser Artikel schlägt einen kombinierten Ansatz aus der Methode der Sozialaktion mit dem Gemischten Methodenansatz vor, um die Wirksamkeit von Programmen zur Beruflichen Beratung zu überprüfen. Forschungsansätze werden unter dem Gesichtspunkt diskutiert, wie auf dem Feld der Berufspsychologie die Prozesse und Ziele der Wirksamkeitsforschung konzeptualisiert und weiterentwickelt wurden. Es werden ferner Beispiele vorgestellt, wie dieser Ansatz zukünftig in Wirksamkeitsuntersuchungen umgesetzt werden könnte.

Uso Combinado del Método de Acción Social y Métodos Mixtos en los Estudios sobre Eficacia de la Orientación Profesional. En este artículo se propone el uso de un enfoque que combina la acción social y los métodos mixtos para verificar la eficacia de los programas de orientación profesional. Se analizan distintas estrategias de investigación en relación a cómo se han conceptualizado y estudiado los procesos y objetivos de la investigación sobre la eficacia en la Psicología vocacional. Se proporcionan ejemplos sobre cómo adoptar este enfoque en investigaciones futuras sobre la eficacia.
