Abstract
Vocational psychology is need of reinvigoration and one way to achieve this goal is by re-examining vocational psychology in the light of cultural psychology. Vocational psychology is a cultural enterprise and the embeddedness of culture needs to be more fully incorporated into career theory and research. Cross-cultural and cultural psychology are described. Specific reference is made as to how core vocational concepts, such as development and the self, can be re-interpreted through cultural lenses.

Psychologie culturelle comme agent de transformation pour la psychologie vocationnelle. La psychologie vocationnelle a besoin de se revigorer et l’une des voies pour atteindre ce but est de réexaminer la psychologie vocationnelle à la lumière de la psychologie culturelle. La psychologie vocationnelle est une entreprise culturelle et l’omniprésence de la culture fait que celle-ci doit être incorporée plus intimement à la théorie et à la recherche carriérologiques. On décrit la psychologie inter-culturelle et culturelle. On fait spécifiquement référence à la façon dont des concepts vocationnels clés tels que le développement et le soi peuvent être réinterprétés à travers une lecture culturelle.
Zusammenfassung.
Kulturelle Psychologie als Veränderungsimpuls für die Berufspsychologie. Die Berufspsychologie bedarf einer Erneuerung, und ein Weg zur Ereichung dieses Ziel ist die Überprüfung der Berufspsychologie im Licht der kulturellen Psychologie. Berufspsychologie ist ein kulturelles Unterfangen, und das Eingebundensein in die Kultur muss stärker in die Laufbahntheorie und –forschung eingearbeitet werden. Die transkulturelle und die kulturelle Psychologie werden vorgestellt. Besondere Schwerpunkte stellen dar, wie zentrale berufliche Konzepte, wie etwa Entwicklung und Selbst, durch die kulturelle Brille neu interpretiert werden können.
Resumen.
La Emergencia de un Paradigma Relacional Cultural para la Psicología Vocacional. En este artículo se presenta el paradigma relacional cultural para la Psicología vocacional, un paradigma inclusivo que hace énfasis en la naturaleza de la construcción del conocimiento y su inevitable modulación cultural a través de las relaciones. Este paradigma representa una cosmovisión fenomenológica o meta-teoría para comprender el sentido y lo que importa en la vida laboral. El concepto de vida laboral representa una combinación entre trabajo (no limitado a las distinciones dicotómicas como mercado laboral y trabajo personal), relaciones, y cultura (incluyendo la construcción cultural del género). Las narraciones se consideran una herramienta útil para comprender los significados que construyen las personas.
