Abstract
For a monatomic gas, the Euler–Cauchy-type differential equations relating the second and third density virial coefficients (B and C) and the second and third acoustic ones (βa and γa) are solved to obtain an analytical formula determining the temperature dependence of C from those of βa and γa. The obtained formula is verified using the reference equation of state of helium-4.
