Set of Drum Steel 15NiCuMoNb5 (WB36) Metal and Welded Joint Service Properties

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

Tests are performed in tension and impact bending for metal and a welded joint of a test workpiece of steel 15NiCuMoNb5 (WB36) within a prescribed temperature range. Mechanical properties are determined in tension and impact bending of metal taking account of the location a test section within a workpiece and specimen orientation. Temperature dependences are obtained for basic metal mechanical properties and the ultimate strength of a welded joint in the range 20 – 350°C. Values are established for the critical brittleness temperature for basic metal, joint metal and fusion zone.
