Seepage Analysis of the Geophysical “Wall in Soil” of Bored Piles

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

This article examines issues of seepage analysis of the geophysical antifiltration device “wall in soil” of bored piles. Calculations were obtained of the dependence on the determination of the basic parameters and filtration characteristics of the “wall,” such as: minimum thickness, dimensions of the overlap of piles, and the bored (thrown) areas, mean head gradients, filtrational flow rate, equivalent (by flow rate) thickness of a “wall,” and so forth,. A comparative estimate is given of the operative head gradients at various transverse and longitudinal deviations of piles (by the angle of inclination of the axis, displacement of the wellhead horizontally, and mixed deviation). It has been shown that the greatest hazard to the filtration stability of the “wall” is the deviation of piles in the longitudinal direction. Examples of calculation for the real parameters of a “wall” are given, and it was concluded that it is necessary to assign differentiated permissible criteria for pile deviations, and more rigidly for the longitudinal direction.
