Revision of Temperature Charts Using the Model of Predictive Analysis of Equipment Operation in a Heat Network

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

The article analyses the possibilities of revising the temperature charts of the heat carrier in the heat networks of district heating formed on the basis of CHPPs towards their reduction from the design values. Reducing the heat carrier temperatures in the supply and return heat pipelines of heat networks is in demand by the majority of participants in the heat supply process using district heating (DH). There are two main reasons that explain this demand: extending the service life of existing heat pipelines of heat networks and increasing the share of combined power generation at CHPPs. The prospects for reducing the temperature of the heat carrier in the network can be assessed by developing a comprehensive predictive model for assessing the final price for thermal energy in the DH. The developed model allows assessing the change in the design temperature of the heat carrier in heat networks based on minimizing the operating costs for the heat carrier transmission using a predictive analysis of their durability. Using an example of a specific district heating system, it is shown that a decrease in the heat carrier temperature by 25 – 30°C from the design value leads to an extension of the assigned resource of heat pipelines by at least 12% of the standard value and to a decrease in the cost of heat transmission by 0.8 – 1.0% with the same quality of heat supply to the consumers.
