Results of Measures Aimed at Reducing Noise from a Gas Distribution Plant and Adjacent Gas Pipelines

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

Gas distribution plants (GDP) and adjacent low-pressure gas pipelines represent intense sources of noise at energy facilities, such as thermal power plants (TPP) or district thermal plants (DTP). The noise level at the exit of the gas pipeline from the GDP building, as well as near gas pipelines themselves, can exceed the standard values of health and safety regulations by several tens of decibels. The noise level from gas pipelines can be brought into conformity with health and safety standards using a combination of acoustic screens and acoustic insulation applied to gas pipelines. The article presents the results of the combined use of such measures aimed at reducing noise from gas pipelines adjacent to GDP.
