Technical Evaluation of Construction and Operational Spillways Using a Set of Non-Destructive Examination Methods

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

Aset of non-destructive examination methods for evaluating the actual technical state of construction and operational spillways (COS) is identified. The advantage of the proposed set involves the combination of control methods at different scales to allow the evaluation not only of the reinforced concrete structures of a tunnel, but also their conjugation with the rock massif and the state of the adjacent rock massif as a whole. Examples of the use of this set of methods by employees of the “Geodynamics Research Center”—branch of JSC “Institute Hydroproject” to examine COS tunnels at various HPPs are given.
