Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

Generation, increase in concentration, and chemical composition of σ-phase in austenitic chromium-manganese steel grade DI59 with high-temperature ageing for creep and stress-rupture testing are determined by experiment. It is shown that the concentration of σ-phase within the metal structure is greater, the greater test temperature, stress, and time. Test data are approximated by parabolic equations of order 1/2. Relationships are developed for determining superheater equivalent operating temperature.
