Problems of design, construction, and operation of the foundations of transmission towers in northern regions ofWestern Siberia, associated with the extreme geological and permafrost conditions of the region, as well as factors (natural, anthropogenic, and technological) that cause them. The need to develop new approaches to the design and construction of transmission lines in the north of Western Siberia is justified. Recommendations on how to reduce the failure rate for transmission lines in the region are formulated.
