Using thermal test data to determine the minimum load of a 200-MW power unit with a PK-47 boiler at the Zainsk power station

  • Published:
Power Technology and Engineering Aims and scope

Calculations show that to prevent the oscillatory instability of the flow in a PK-47 once-through boiler, it is necessary to install /12 mm orifice plates at the inlet of its bottom radiant section. Load-reduction tests on the boiler with such plates of a 200-MW power unit at constant turbine inlet pressure confirm the reliable operation of the unit in a load range of 80 – 200 MW.
