An algorithm for the adaptive control of systems for compensating the reactive power of substations is developed and programmed. The algorithm is based on the fact that a specified voltage level on the controlled buses can be set up in accordance with a certain overall reactive power, which must be compensated at the substation to maintain this voltage level. The substation can be represented by a proportional section, described by a transfer function, defined by the mode of operation of the network and the composition of the working equipment.

Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Voloshin (1981). In 2004 he graduated from Moscow Power Institute (Technical University), obtaining a diploma with distinction in the speciality “Relay Protection and automation of electric power systems” and a diploma with distinction in the speciality “Economics and control in the electric power industry.” Since March 2002 he has working at the JSC “Institut Énergoset’proekt” in Moscow. At the present time he works as an assistant in the control systems department. He has taken a direct part in the development and introduction of the TP and PS750 kV Belozerskaya, the PS500 kV Berkut, Zlatoust, Alyuminievaya, and other automatic control systems. In 2007 he has awarded a diploma and first place at the Second All-Russia competition for young specialists in the area of power engineering in the section “Automated control systems for the electric power industry.”
