The publisher Springer is seeking applications and nominations for the position of the Editor-in-Chief for the Heart Failure Reviews (HREV). Details about the journal are available at https://www.springer.com/journal/10741.

HREV is an international review journal which develops links between basic scientists and clinical investigators, creating a unique, interdisciplinary dialogue focused on heart failure, its pathogenesis, and treatment. Topics covered include clinical and surgical approaches to therapy, basic pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology, pathology, and electrophysiology.

Future adjustments to the aims and scope of the journal will be fine-tuned by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the publisher.

The journal is available in all major indexing services including Medline and the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE). The published articles created more than 500,000 downloads in 2022.

The journal will be run under the leadership of one Editor-in-Chief (EIC) who will be supported by associate editors and an editorial board nominated by the EIC in close collaboration with the publisher.

The role of the EIC comprises pro-active content acquisition as well as leading and managing the peer-review process in a timely manner in close cooperation with the associate editors, the editorial board, reviewers, and authors. This includes proactive commissioning of topical collections on current topics of interest to the community. The EIC adheres to international standards of good editorial practice and the publisher’s code of conduct.

The EIC serves for an initial term of 3 years. The term of service for this position starts on January 1st, 2024, and expires on December 31st, 2026.

The ideal candidate should have a vision on how to lead the journal, grow the published content, and further increase the visibility and reputation of the journal in the international community. He/she will establish a close working relationship with his/her associate editors. The candidate should have a broad interest and strong expertise in this rapidly growing field of cardiovascular medicine as a whole, a high level of commitment to leading this journal, and a clear idea of the pragmatic issues involved in accomplishing this mission. The EIC is expected to work closely with the global publisher Springer on all aspects of publishing.

Each interested individual is invited to submit an application via e-mail. The application should include a brief letter of interest and qualifications, a vision statement, and short curriculum vitae.
