As many of you know, I have retired from Virginia Commonwealth University as of July, 2017 after 38 years of service. I have also decided to retire from Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of Health Care Management Science (HCMS) after 22 years, the position I held since inception of the Journal in 1997. It has been great rewarding journey, now it’s time to spend more time with my family and travel. Many of you know HCMS is a brainchild of “Health Applications Society (HAS) of Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS),” where the idea was born in one of the annual business meetings, and was carried on since then.

As I retire from the Journal, Professor Greg Zaric has taken over as (EIC) of HCMS during the second half of 2019.

Greg Zaric is the MSc Faculty Director and a Professor in Management Science at the Ivey Business School, Western University, London, Ontario, Canada. He previously held the Canada Research Chair in Health Care Management Science. Greg holds Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University, and served on the Editorial Board of the HCMS over a decade.

I take this opportunity to thank HCMS community for all aspects of manuscript review and contribution support during my service as EIC of HCMS, and I urge the community to continue your support of HCMS under Professor Greg Zaric’s leadership. Let us all welcome Greg, gzaric@ivey.ca, as new EIC of HCMS.

Yasar A Ozcan, Ph.D.

Professor Emeritus of Health Administration, Virginia Commonwealth University,

Emeritus Founding Editor-in-Chief of Health Care Management Science.
