“Mugnoli”: a Neglected Race of Brassica oleracea L. from Salento (Italy)


“Mugnoli”, a neglected race of Brassica oleracea L., is described from Southern Italy (Salento, Apulia). In this race, the young inflorescences together with a few leaves are harvested for use as a cooking vegetable. “Mugnoli” might be considered as an early step in the evolution of broccoli (B. oleracea L. var. italica Plenck).
