It is proposed that cermet binder with a high content of metal fill be used in obtaining mullite-corundum ceramic with low sintering temperature. The optimal composition of this material is determined. It is found that the aluminum present in the cermet binder is completely oxidized and reacts with metakaolinite and quartz before mullite is formed.
