Glass and Ceramics Aims and scope Submit manuscript

A qualitative picture of the enrichment of the fine fraction of quartz sand during the milling process is obtained experimentally using a natural impurity (albite). It is shown that the glass made from the fine sand fraction is optically and structurally inferior to that made from the course fraction.
