Abstract

The purpose of the article is to construct petrodensity and structural velocity models of the Earth’s crust and the upper mantle based on the integrated analysis of seismic and gravity data along the lines of regional profiles to create models of the deep structure and geodynamic development of the Pre-Caspian region lithosphere. Comprehensive analysis of gravimetric, seismic tomographic, and seismological surveys has been carried out to reveal density and velocity heterogeneity of the lower horizons of the Earth’s crust of the Pre-Caspian oil and gas-bearing region. As a basis, materials of deep seismic probing along the geotraverse lines crossing the Kazakhstan part of the North Caspian region were taken. The seismic section was taken as the main information source for physical and geological modelling. In the process of interpretation, computer technology is widely used, including the creation of a unified information base of initial geological and geophysical data. The results of modelling are presented by two-dimensional density and P-velocity models along with latitudinal and meridional profiles. New data have been obtained for the study area on the correlation of crustal layers, block structure, and zoning of lower horizons according to crustal types.
